【摘要】:Dataobtainedbythesemethodsmaybeusedtodeterminethetransmittedshockcushioningcharacteristicsoffoam-in-placepackagingmaterials.Thesedataallowdesignofcushioningsystemsthatcanprovideadequateandefficientuseoffoamforprotectionofgoodsduringadistributionlife-cycle.Thesemethods,incontrasttoothermethodsthatusuallytestonlythecushioningfoam,aredesignedtoevaluatefoam-in-placecushioningmaterialsinamannerinwhichthefoam-in-placepackagingmaterialisused.Inparticular,themethodincludessimultaneoususeofaplasticfilm,thefoam,andtheboxusuallyusedinthismethodofpackaging.SeeFig.1.1.1Thesetestmethodsdeterminetheshock-absorbingcharacteristicsoffoam-in-placepackagingmaterials.1.2TestMethodAusesafree-fallpackagedroptestapparatus.1.3TestMethodBusesashock-testapparatus.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
