【摘要】:Thistestmethodisnon-destructiveandiscommonlyusedformaterialcharacterizationanddevelopment,designdatageneration,andqualitycontrolpurposes.Thetestassumesthatthepropertiesofthespecimenareperfectlyisotropic,whichmaynotbetrueforsomerefractorymaterials.Thetestalsoassumesthatthespecimenishomogeneousandelastic.Specimensthataremicro-crackedaredifficulttotestsincetheydonotyieldconsistentresults.Specimenswithlowdensitieshaveadampingeffectandareeasilydamagedlocallyattheimpactpoint.Insulatingbrickscangenerallybetestedwiththistechnique,butfibrousinsulatingmaterialsaregenerallytooweakandsofttotest.Forqualitycontroluse,thetestmethodmaybeusedformeasuringonlyresonantfrequenciesofanystandardsizespecimen.Anelasticmoduluscalculationmaynotbeneededorevenfeasibleiftheshapeisnon-standard,suchasaslidegateplatecontainingahole.Sincespecimenswillvaryinbothsizeandmass,acceptablefrequenciesforeachshapeandmaterialmustbeestablishedfromstatisticaldata.Dimensionalvariationscanhaveasignificanteffectonmodulusvaluescalculatedfromthefrequencymeasurements.Surfacegrindingmayberequiredtobringsomematerialsintothespecifiedtolerancerange.Sincecylindricalshapesarenotcommonlymadefromrefractorymaterialstheyarenotcoveredbythistestmethod,butarecoveredinTestMethodC215.1.1ThistestmethodcoversthemeasurementofthefundamentalresonantfrequenciesforthepurposeofcalculatingthedynamicYoung''smodulus,thedynamicshearmodulus(alsoknownasthemodulusofrigidity),andthedynamicPoisson''sratioofrefractorymaterialsatambienttemperatures.Specimensofthesematerialspossessspecificmechanicalresonantfrequencies,whicharedeterminedbytheelasticmodulus,mass,andgeometryofthetestspecimen.Therefore,thedynamicelasticpropertiescanbecomputedifthegeometry,mass,andmechanicalresonantfrequenciesofasuitablespecimencanbemeasured.ThedynamicYoung''smodulusisdeterminedusingtheresonantfrequencyintheflexuralmodeofvibrationandthedynamicshearmodulusisdeterminedusingtheresonantfrequencyinthetorsionalmodeofvibration.Poisson''sratioiscomputedfromthedynamicYoung''smodulusandthedynamicshearmodulus.1.2Althoughnotspecificallydescribedherein,thismethodcanalsobeperformedathightemperatureswithsuitableequipmentmodificationsandappropriatemodificationstothecalculationstocompensateforthermalexpansion.1.3ThevaluesarestatedinSIunitsandaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.4Thisstandardmayinvolvehazardousmaterials,operations,andequipment.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
